From 12/12/2021, increase insurance limit for depositors at banks to 125 million VND

Accordingly, the limit of insurance payment of the deposit insurance organization for the insured of the deposit is as follows: The maximum amount the deposit insurance organization pays for all insured deposits in accordance with the Law on Deposit Insurance (including principal and interest) of a person at a deposit insurance participating institution, when an insurance payment obligation arises, it is VND 125 million.

This level has increased by VND 50 million compared to the previous regulation in Decision No. 21/2017/QD-TTg of VND 75 million.

For deposits that have incurred insurance payment obligations but have not been paid according to the provisions of the Law on Deposit Insurance before December 12, 2021, the insurance payment limit shall comply with the provisions of Decision No. decree number 21.

This decision takes effect from December 12, 2021.
