On April 22, 2021, the Prime Minister issued Decision 18/2021/QD-TTg stipulating the forecast, warning, communication of natural disasters and disaster risk levels.

Accordingly, Clause 1, Article 25 of this Decision clearly states that the warning of tornado, lightning and hail is issued at least 30 minutes before the above phenomena are likely to occur; Storm, lightning, and hail warnings are continuously updated depending on specific developments. The natural disaster forecast and warning bulletin shall be provided to agencies and organizations within 15 minutes from the time of completion of the latest forecast and warning bulletin.

In addition, for earthquake bulletins, tsunami warning messages must be provided immediately after completion to agencies and organizations. In addition, Article 8 also stipulates the issuance of bulletins on forecasting and warning of tropical depressions, high waves, and rising water due to specific tropical depressions:

- Tropical depression news near the East Sea: Issued when a tropical depression operates outside the East Sea and is likely to move into the East Sea in the next 24-48 hours;

- Tropical depression new in the East Sea: Issued when a tropical depression is likely to directly affect the Vietnamese mainland in the next 24 hours...

The decision takes effect from July 1, 2021.
