How to change the gold number plate online

Circular 58 of the Ministry of Public Security stipulates that vehicles operating in transport business that are granted a white background number plate, black letters and numbers before August 1, 2020, must be changed to a yellow number plate before December 31, 2021.

Currently, transport business owners can partially carry out the procedure to change the yellow number plate online at the Wedsite of the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police). Let's find out with Thinh Tri Law on how to change the gold number plate online?

Step 1: Access Wedsite: http://www.csgt.vn/ >> Select Register, declare vehicle.

Step 2: Select Redeem certificate of registration, license plate of cars operating in transportation business.

Step 3: Select Declare.

Step 4: Fill in the information required by the online declaration >> Select Register.

Choose a convenient vehicle registration location, the system will display the details of the address, phone number and email of the traffic police department.

Fill in the vehicle owner information and the requested vehicle information.

Step 5: Contact the vehicle registry of your choice to schedule an appointment.

Step 6: Bring the documents to the vehicle registration agency to carry out the procedures to change the yellow plate.:

Based on the pre-arranged schedule, the car owner brings the following documents directly to the vehicle registration agency:

- Vehicle registration certificate: For car owners who are individuals or business households (download directly from the online declaration);

- The official letter enclosed with the list of requests for number plate change: For vehicle owners being enterprises or cooperatives;

- License plates;

- Present the vehicle owner's documents:

+ Owner is a Vietnamese individual: identity card/citizen identification/household book;

+ Vehicle owner is a Vietnamese agency or organization: citizen's identity card / identity card of the person who comes to register the vehicle (attached with the power of attorney).

Step 7: Pay the license plate change fee. According to Article 5 of Circular 229/2016/TT-BTC, the fee for the replacement of registration papers with number plates is as follows:

- Car is 150,000 VND/time/car;

- Semi-trailers registered separately, trailers: 100,000 VND.

Step 8: Receive golden number plate.

Time limit for settlement: Immediately after the vehicle registration agency receives the valid application.

Thus, the car owner can declare information in advance and make an appointment to change the yellow number plate procedure at the Traffic Police Department.
