COVID-19 vaccination requirements for children

 In this decision, the Ministry of Health supplements the Checklist before covid-19 vaccination for children issued together with Decision  2470/QD-BYT dated June 14, 2019 of the Minister of Health on promulgating guidelines for pre-vaccination screening for children. 

Accordingly, before children vaccination, the following factors will be screened:

(1) A clear history of anaphylaxis to the previous Covid-19 vaccine or vaccine components;

(2) Having an acute or chronic disease;

(3) History of allergy to any allergen;

(4) Consciousness disorder, behavioral disorder;

(5) Having congenital diseases, chronic diseases of the heart, lungs, digestive system, urinary system, blood,...;

(6) Auscultation of the heart, lungs is abnormal;

(7) Grade 3 allergic reaction with any known allergen;

(8) Other contraindications/delays.

Once getting the screening results, if all of the above factors are normal points and dont have contraindications to vaccination according to the manufacturer's instructions then you are eligible for immediate vaccination.

In addition, based on screening results will:

- Contraindications to vaccination with the same type of vaccine: if having abnormality in item (1);

- Delayed vaccination: if having abnormality in item (2);

- Considerate group to vaccination: if having abnormality in items (3), (4);

- Transfer to the hospital for screening and vaccination: WHEN YES, there are abnormalities in items (5), (6), (7).

Decision 5002/QD-BYT  takes effect from October 29, 2021.
