More than 56 billion for programme fund the poor in Ho Chi Minh city.

This is an annual activity to maximize the productivity of propaganda, encouragement to the people in responding to campaign "Fund for the poor" and "National people support the poor- not leaving anyone behind" that are launched by the Prime Minister

At the Program, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City- Mrs..To Thi Bich Chau said: "The city always prioritizes to care the people in the city, especially the poor as it is the Board of management's duty and morallity even other people's.

During the days suffering the consequence of Co-vid 19 as well as the loss of localities in Centre Vietnam, citizens in Ho Chi Minh has expressed national identity, spirit, solidarity through small but warm acts. Their support has created a big impact that help the poor and people living in the storm area to decrease their difficulties and anxieties.

Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City expresses deep gratitude to agencies, organizations and people in Ho Chi Minh city for many years supporting the poor as well as ensuring social safety. Based on that support, program "City of gratitude - Love connection" becomes one of the most beautiful points that help demonstrating a nice tradition, solidarity, compassion of the people in this city. Ho Chi Minh city is considered as a dynamic, creative, developed city which is full of human love, gratitude and kindness.

"City of Gratitude - Love Connection" in 2020 has colorful performances in term of content and typical persons living in HCM city who overcome their poverty or are warm-hearted.

The program spreads tradition of gratitude, creating consensus and active support for entire people in the campaign " Fund for the Poor"; continue to promote the kindness, gratitude, mutual assistance accompany with the State guidelines and policies, improve living quality of the poor and near-poor households.

The program has called for more than 56.5 billion vnd from companies, sponsors and individuals in HCM city that promptly takes care of their basic demands and let them overcome the poverty.

In addition, this year is the occasion to summarize the results of 20 years raising Nguyen Huu Tho scholarship (2001 - 2020). From January 1, 2001 up to now, there are 494,907 scholarships being awarded to disadvantaged students in the city in order to keep pupils and students on their studies and strive to achieve academic excellence; implement plan for poverty reduction in the city.

On this occasion, Organization Committee awarded 23 groups with good achievements in caring Nguyen Huu Tho scholarships in 2001-2020.
