80% discount on deposit for traveling agencies until the end of 2023

Accordingly, the deposit for travelling agencies will be reduced by 80% until the end of December 31, 2023. In Decree 94/2021, the deposit level for travelling agencies is regulated as follows:

- Deposit level for domestic travelling agencies: 20 million VND (previously 100 million VND);

- Margin level for international travelling agencies:

+ Travelling service for international tourists to Vietnam: 50 million  (previously 250 million dong);

+ Travelling service for tourists going abroad: 100 million (previously 500 million dong);

+ Travelling service for international tourists to Vietnam and tourists abroad: 100 million  (previously 500 million dong).

Banks receiver the deposit of travel businesses are responsible for withdrawing the old deposit certificate, issuing a new deposit certificate according to the above deposit level and refunding the difference between the deposit level according to regulations from the effective date of Decree 94/2021/ND-CP.

Concurrently, banks also send the list and information of businesses that have exchanged certificates of deposit to the competent authority to issue the license for travel service business within 30 days from the date the enterprise has changed its deposit certificate.  

For travel service businesses, if they have been granted a certificate of deposit for travel service business, they can exchange the Certificate at the rate specified in Decree 94/2021/ND-CP and send it to competent authority shall grant the license to provide travel services within 30 days since the date of change.

From January 1, 2024, businesses that deposit travel services must exchange their certificates of deposit for travel services according to the old prescribed deposit level.

Decree 94/2021/ND-CP  takes effect from October 28, 2021.
