Announcement of the chip-mounted identities card

Accordingly, Circular 06/2021/TT-BCA specifically stipulates the shape, size, content, specifications, and some notes for the citizen identification card as follows:

About shape and size: the chip-mounted identities card has a rectangular shape, width 53.98 mm ± 0.12 mm, length 85.6 mm ± 0.12 mm, thickness 0.76 mm ± 0.08 mm, four rounded corners with radius r = 3.18 mm ± 0.3 m.

About content:

- The front of the chip-mounted identities card includes the following information:

+ Left, from top: National emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 12 mm in diameter; a photo of the owner of the card, size 20 x 30 mm; Valid until/Date of expiry;

+ Right, from top to bottom: SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM; Independence - Freedom - Happiness; the words CITIZEN IDENTITY/CITIZEN Identity Card; chip icon; QR code; No; Full name; Date of birth; Sex; Nationality; Place of origin; Place of residence;

-The back of the card includes:

Personal identification; Day, month, year/Date, month, year; Director of Department for Public Administration and Social Security; signature, full name of the person authorized to issue the card; stamp with the national emblem of the agency issuing the CCCD card; electronic chips.

+ MRZ ( Machine Readable Zone)

+ Right, from top to bottom: There are 2 boxes: Left index finger fingerprint/Left index finger and Right index finger fingerprint/Right index finger of CCCD card holder. + MRZ series.

About the specifications:

- The two sides of the Citizen ID card are printed with a color transition from yellow to blue. The front surface of the card includes Vietnam administrative map, bronze drum, traditional decorative patterns. The back of the card includes the patterns being combined with the image of a lotus flower and intertwined diagonal curves;

- The national emblem and citizen's portrait are printed in color directly on the card;

- Color of the information on the citizen identification card:

+ Blue: THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIET NAM; Independence - Freedom - Happiness;  “Citizen Identity Card”; chip icon; No; Full name; Date of birth; Sex; Nationality; Place of origin; Place of residence; Validity/Date of expiry; Personal identification; Date, month, year; Director of Department for Public Administration and Social Security; Left index finger; Right index finger;

+ Red: The words "CITIZEN IDENTIFICATION"; a stamp with the national emblem of the agency issuing the citizen's identity card

+ Black: ID number; the information of the person who is issued with the citizen identification card; expiry date, month, year; left index finger fingerprint image, right index finger fingerprint image; information about the identity of the person who is issued with a citizen identification card; date, month and year of issuance of the citizen identification card; full name, middle name, and name and signature of the person competent to issue citizen identification cards; MRZ line, black QR code;

- An electronic chip that stores basic information of a citizen is attached to the back of the citizen's identity card.

This Circular takes effect from January 23rd, 2021.
