Government agrees to buy 40 million more doses of Russian Sputnik V vaccine

On July 12, 2021, the Government issued Resolution 73/NQ-CP on purchasing Sputnik V vaccine from the Russian Federation.

According to the Resolution, the Government has agreed to the proposal of the Ministry of Health with the following contents:

Negotiating and buying 40 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine from the Russian Federation with the combined funding mobilized by T&T Group, without using funds from the State budget and the Vietnam Covid-19 Vaccine Fund.

At the request of the vaccine manufacturer, sign a disclaimer agreement for the use of Sputnik V vaccine with the same content as the agreement signed by the Ministry of Health in the case of purchasing BNT162 vaccine from Vietnam. Pfizer and vaccine AZD1222 produced by AstraZeneca by Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC).

Implement the licensing of import, inspection and quality control of vaccines, organize free injection of all 40 (forty) million doses of the above-mentioned vaccines according to regulations.

This Resolution takes effect from the date of signing for promulgation.
